I consider myself somewhat of a global wanderer. There have definitely been times whilst wandering, that I have thought I was lost. Not lost in a physical sense (well actually I’m sure there have been a few occasions) but lost in the sense that I haven’t known which road my life was going to travel down next. These periods of being lost come in moments of panic: Where am I going? What am I going to do next? Am I wasting my life?
I have wandered the planet looking for answers, to an unknown question and I still don’t know what that question is. I don’t think it is a sense of being lost that has driven my search for the answers and my desire to wander, but a curiosity to see what the world has to offer.
There is nothing better than wandering the streets of an unknown city without a deadline that has to be met or a schedule that has to be kept. To drift from place to place, exploring and roaming is a feeling that can't be beaten, but drift to far and take a few wrong turns into the unknown and panic sets in ‘you are lost’ (we have all experienced that moment of panic).
Being lost comes from a moment of panic whilst wandering, it comes and goes not all that wander are lost!
