The sound of one hand clapping
I had to Google this one as nothing very inspirational was coming to me on this sunny afternoon, how ironic!
What is the sound of one hand clapping? This is a traditional Koan posed by a Zen master to a student.
A Koan is a law or a fundamental part of Zen Buddhism, it can be made up of stories, questions and statements. A Koan can not be understood by rational thinking but through intuition, the answer will come in a moment of enlightenment normally whilst meditating.
A Koan must be answered from one's personal experience. The answer is often life changing, and needs no confirmation from anyone else.
I think I should take up meditation and maybe my blogs will come to me as epiphanies in moments of enlightenment.
